This event is promoted by the Municipality of Machico with the goal of developing the economy of the council and provide foreigners and even locals with the taste of the regional cuisine, in particular the delicacies of this municipality located in the eastern part of the island. From the 3rd to the 5th – Madeira Wine Rally:
The “Madeira Wine Rally”, is the largest racing event in the Region organised by the Madeira Sports Club with several sponsors. Many international pilots participate in this event using fast cars and driving along the windy roads of the Island thrilling the motorsports lovers.

On the 4th at 09:30 p.m. – Summer Astronomy – On the peaks of Madeira (Casa do Areeiro, Chão do Areeiro, a bit below 1818 metres above sea level)
Main subject: Understant the universe (how it moves, to observe visible planets, understand the difference between stars and planets and many other concepts and live observation). It lasts for 3 hours approximately with a 15 minute break around 11:00 p.m.
Do not forget: For you to feel confortable at 1598 m (around 5200 feet), at night mostly, you should take with you warm drinks and very warm and confortable clothes.
From August to October, 6th – Concerts L – At Quinta da Rochinha – Estalagem da Ponta do Sol
Starting already at the end of June but constinuously receiving international artists until the 6th of October, there were 12 concerts programmed, depicting both Portuguese and international music in addition to more alternative and traditional sounds, such as indie, rock, jazz.

From 3rd to 5th – Religious festivity of “Nossa Senhora da Saúde” (Our Lady of Health) – In São Vicente parish – Lameiros:
The “Nossa Senhora da Saúde” festivity, is annually held in the parish of Lameiros, São Vicente. Commonly designated by locals as the “Arraial dos Lameiros”.
The religious ritual involving this festivity includes the typical “novenas” [9 masses] and a religious service held inside the church.
Outside, there are food and drink stalls and musical entertainment, with local DJ’s and folk dancing groups in addition to other music bands.

From the 10 th to the 12th– The Black Scabbard fish gastronomy festivity – in Camara de Lobos (west of Funchal):
In the bay of Câmara de Lobos hosts the Black Scabbard Fish Festival, an event organised by the Parish Council of Câmara de Lobos, dedicated to one of the most typical gastronomic specialties of Madeira.
The event combines cuisine and entertainment in a festival filled with show cooking performances, dance performances and plenty of music, in order to let people know a bit more about the fishing activity in the picturesque bay of Câmara de Lobos and show the gastronomic potential of the tasty black scabbard fish.
From the 9th to the 14th – in the village of Camacha – at Largo da Achada:
This event is organized by the Casa do Povo da Camacha and dedicated to the cultural traditions of this parish and in fact traditions from rural Madeira of old times.
For a week, the parish of Camacha becomes a place where people gather, with entertainment, wickerwork and embroidery exhibitions and musical performances by various folk groups from the parish.
