The chapel of our lady of Fatima with its huge clock is located at the top of a peak called Pico da Cova. From here you can enjoy a magnificent panoramic view over the village of Saint Vincent in the north of Madeira Island.
Dedicated to Our Lady of Fátima, the Cova peak chapel was built by the locals in 1948 to celebrate the end of the Second World War.
This perfect location gives its unique character as it can be clearly seen in the surrounding areas.
It is a 14m high tower with a huge clock that seems to set up the time for the entire village. The highlight of the place is the footpath that goes from the main road to the top of the hill. As you are climbing it, on the side of the path, you can see 14 crosses which represent the 14 stations of Jesus on the way to the cross-via sacrum.
An easy walk, well marked with breathtaking views.
