You have just arrived on  Madeira Island eager to discover the Best World’s Island Destination. You look around and in the horizon you see three islets and you wonder /what are those? The Desert Island is a Nature Reserve created as recognition of its natural and ecological value. Its aim is to protect the endangered monk seals (Monachus Monachus) and preserve the unique wildlife and flora that includes rare and endemic species.

Travelling is a learning experience and these places are rare and unique worldwide and make you feel curious about it. So you book a special seasonal trip, leaving Madeira in the morning and sailing away in the comfort of a catamaran along the south coast of Madeira.  The views over the Deserta islands are absolutely breathtaking and, maybe, you will have a chance to see some dolphins  swimming along.

You disembark at Deserta Grande with its beach of volcanic origin and go for a pleasant walk around to discover the wilderness and rare nesting site of sea-birds. Swimming in crystal clear waters, snorkelling or paddling is suggested to you before a nice meal on board.

By the end of the day you are back to Madeira Island. You left nothing but footprints and took nothing but pictures, but this trip will remain as an unforgettable experience.
