There are many ways to admire the beauty of this island, but a walk along the “Levadas” is a great way to get to know the interior of Madeira.

Levadas are extensive watercourses which transport water throughout the entire island to irrigate the agricultural terraces.

These  offer a wonderful opportunity to admire the stunning landscapes as well as our local vegetation, which grows wild and much taller  when compared to that of other European countries.

In addition to all of this, there is the pure fresh air mixed with the different aromas of the trees and plants.

Levadas are a homage  to the hundreds of men who gave their lives building them.

Don’t miss out on one of the greatest attractions of Madeira Island!
