“Madeira” is frequently regardedt a wine making island. However, this magnificent insular region has so much more to offer.

The banana producing area occupies nearly the whole of the southwestern part of the island. It comprises the second largest slot in the regional income.

This sweet and highly nutritional fruit, which is produced throughout the year, has a fascinating form of cultivation on  manmade step-like terraces that contribute to an absolutely exuberant landscape.
