The Blandy’s Wine Lodge once part of a 17th century Franciscan Monastery, bought in 1836 by the Blandy’s family, is an excellent wine show place.

Here you can find  blended wines, dated wines as well as a wide range of table wines including, since 1992, the madeiran table wine called Atlantis.

Not to be missed are the guided tours available in various languages. These tours include the cooperage area, old attics where the wines are still maturing and a museum.

For the wine experts I suggest the Vintage tour with an exclusive visit to the Blandy’s family private collection of unique vintage Madeira wines.

The tour ends in Max Römer  tasting room with murals  illustrating the wine making process or in the Vintage Room surrounded by the rarest and oldest Madeira wines.

During the year you may join the special events with renowned winemakers from all around the world. Blandy’s Wine Festival during the wine harvesting time is a must.

Don’t leave the place without having lunch in the «1811 Bistro & Wine Bar» on a food and wine pairing concept.
